Voor Groenberg Nurseries
Voor Groenberg Nurseries

The production of constantly improving grafted vine plants has been Voor-Groenberg Nurseries’ passion for over 45 years. We are situated near the town of Wellington where the soils and climatic conditions are ideally suited for our system of grafting. Here our nurserymen and viticulturist combine generations’ experience and expert knowledge with modern techniques to cultivate wine and table grape vines of the highest quality.

Voor Groenberg Nurseries

•    Grafting material. Grafting material received by the nursery originate from the best selected clones of available cultivars. Extensive research is done to ensure that only the best material is used to deliver top quality grafted vines to producers.
•    Quality vines. To ensure quality factors such as a secure grafting union calloused on both sides, adequate roots at the base of the rootstock and one year’s sufficiently matured growth are inspected. The phytosanitary standard (virus status) and genetic origin of plant material are determined up to the last season before grafting.
•    Certified plant material. It is of the utmost importance to us to deliver selected clone material to producers to limit genetic deviations.

Voor Groenberg Nurseries

•    Better quality and affordable product. The traditional process long-whip graft and cold callus is used. The constant pursuit of higher standards and a more affordable product for the producer necessitates continuous experimenting with grafting techniques.
•    Available rootstock. Richter 99, Richter 110, 101-14MGT, Ramsey, Paulsen 1103, Ruggeri 140, US 8-7, SO4 and 143B.
•    Experience and expertise. The experience and know-how of our team, as well as their scientific approach ensures that the products of Voor-Groenberg Nurseries are of the highest quality.

We also provide viticutural services. See our advert under Services/Consulting Viticulture.
